In 2000, he was appointed by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as the commander of the Quds Force. This unit’s main mission was to strengthen and expand the activities of the resistance axis in the region. His outstanding performance over the next decade earned him the rank of Major General from the leadership in 2010.
