Hossein Salami
AT THE SUMMIT OF COMMAND
From 1997 onward, Salami served as the Deputy for Operations of the IRGC’s Joint Staff, and later assumed command of the IRGC Aerospace Force. He played a key role in advancing the country’s missile capabilities. In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, and finally, in May 2019, by the decree of the Supreme Leader, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-placing him at the helm of one of the nation’s most critical military institutions.
